The Geomatics Research Lab was developed in 1998 with support awarded by Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and Ontario Research and Development Challenge Funds (ORDCF). It is a World-Class Geomatics Research Lab equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for spatial analysis and modeling of Earth and Environmental Systems. It is led by Professor Qiuming Cheng, Director and Founder. As the first and only university-wide geomatics research lab located in 0018 of the new Computer Science & Engineering Building (CSE), it has been providing centralized facilities and collaborative environment for geomatics researchers (faculty members and their graduate students and PDFs) from Tri-Faculties (Faculty of Pure and Applied Science, Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Environmental Studies).
